SmileOne Limited was launched to build a branded chain of private and NHS dental practices across the UK, focusing initially on London and the Southeast. The company acquired three practices in Lewes, Horsham, and Pimlico. Each of the practices benefits from NHS contracts, which provide a guaranteed level of business. The focus has been on developing private practice revenues by expanding the offering of high value services such as implants, orthodontics, and endodontics. The company secured a debt facility from Shawbrook Bank of £2.3m, most of which was drawn down. This allowed the company to acquire NHS contracts and practice sites and to fit them out suitably.
